

Amethyst
The talismanic stone of those
born in the month of February, the Amethyst is a stone with a vast
amount of history, legend and undisputed powers. Originally bought to
the attention of Alexander the Great when one of his generals
presented a satchel full of the royal purple stones that was
delivered as tribute by one of the conquered Punjabs of the region
Alexander's troops had crossed into and claimed as "conquered
territory" It was explained to the Greek troops these stones had
the power to enhance it's wearer's perception of truth and clear
thinking. . In the bible it is described as one of the stones that
represented one of the twelve tribes of Abraham on the kings
breastplate. Throughout history Amethyst has been worn by royalty,
great statesmen as well as sages of all cultures, it's royal purple
color solidifying the greatness of all who possess it. Ideally
because of it's tendency to promote a mental and emotional state the
stone should be used as earrings to evoke clear thinking from both
opposing yet supporting sides of the face, the ears. As a ring it
will guide the hand to write with perception and assist the wearer to
point towards the "right direction". Amethysts as well as
other stones should be surrounded by diamonds to give it a
"cushion of strength" set in yellow gold to enhance it's
richness or in white gold to express the harmony of it's tones.
